You know Chucky... You know Jason... You know Freddy...
But do you know Derek?
Every family has one: the black sheep, the bad apple, the one that doesn't quite fit in. Even within the horror genre these outcasts exist. And it's for all the weirdos, freaks, and underappreciated movies and TV shows out there that this film was made.
Once upon a time, in December of 1997, a soap opera named Sunset Beach introduced its own version of a slasher called Terror Island. Inspired by Scream (1996) and I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997), the plot involved a homicidal identical twin named Derek who brutally murdered several of his brother's friends on a remote island on New Year's Eve. Set before that twisted tale of homicidal sibling rivalry is this new film, A Nightmare on 34th Street.
On Christmas night, while Derek's brother celebrates the holiday with his new fiance and their friends, Derek is left alone and miserable. After passing out from a night of drinking, he wakes up in a world full of famous (and not so famous) pop culture villains, monsters, and horror movie slashers. It turns out, even the bad guys (and gals) get into the holiday spirit, as Derek is about to learn.
A Nightmare on 34th Street is a standalone, self-contained, and extremely low budget fan film (set expectations accordingly) dedicated to all fans of the horror genre, but especially those lovers of more obscure films... the "deep cuts," if you will. One does not need to know Sunset Beach or any of the films referenced to enjoy this movie, but the more you know, the more Easter eggs you will find!
Please sign up below if you are interested in downloading the film. Though I would love to keep the film on YouTube to stream, there are no guarantees it won't get taken down.
This is a not for profit fan film. In fact, I lost a great deal of my own money in its creation. But it was a labor of love. The film will always be available for FREE to download.
